After many years in design, and training as a cabinetmaker at Malmstens, I wanted to make desks where form, material and construction are equally considered. Every desk is designed and built as a numbered one-off in solid wood, leather and brass, with materials chosen to age beautifully.

Long

M Skybrand grew out of a wish to bring contemporary design together with traditional cabinetmaking. After many years in design, and training as a cabinetmaker at Malmstens, I wanted to make desks where form, material and construction are equally considered.

I built the first desk for my wife. She needed a smaller desk that would fit at home, but I could not find one that felt as carefully made as the rest of our furniture. When more people began asking about it, the idea of M Skybrand took shape.

I design desks with clean proportions and build them in solid wood, leather and brass. The materials are chosen for how they feel, how they age and how they change over time. Every desk is built as a numbered one-off and signed by the person who made it — with the ambition of making furniture that grows more beautiful with use and lasts for generations.
